DESCRIPTION

Canna 'Tropicanna' is a stunning tropical perennial prized for its vibrant, multicolored foliage and bold orange flowers. Its large leaves are dramatically striped with vibrant combinations of red, pink, yellow, and green, providing a long season of interest even before the blooms appear. From midsummer to fall, it sends up tall stalks topped with clusters of fiery orange flowers that attract hummingbirds. This eye-catching plant is perfect for adding a dramatic focal point to sunny borders, water garden edges, or large containers where its exotic flair can shine. It thrives in rich, moist soil and appreciates plenty of water and fertilizer during the growing season.

PLANTING & CARE

Plant rhizomes in spring after the danger of frost has passed. Choose a location with full sun and rich, moist, well-drained soil. Water regularly and deeply, especially during hot, dry periods. Apply a balanced fertilizer every 4-6 weeks during the growing season. In USDA zones 8-11, apply a thick mulch in winter. In colder zones, after the first frost blackens the foliage, cut stems back, dig up the rhizomes, and store them in a cool, dry place over winter.
