Multi-stemmed, deciduous shrub. Stems are yellow orange with red at the tips. Broadly elliptic to ovate, medium green leaves. Tiny white flowers appear in flat-topped clusters in late spring. Flowers give way to clusters of dark purple drupes in summer. Fall color is yellow.
