Helleborus HGC. 'Diva'

Helleborus 'Diva' is a stunning selection from the Helleborus Gold Collection, prized for its exceptionally large, saucer-shaped blooms that herald the late winter and early spring garden. The nodding flowers are a pure, clean white, often with a subtle green cast and contrasting burgundy stamens, held elegantly above leathery, dark green foliage. This evergreen perennial is a must-have for its ability to provide months of color when little else is blooming. It is perfect for shady woodland gardens, as an underplanting for deciduous shrubs, or in mixed containers. It is easy to grow in rich, well-drained soil and, once established, is quite low maintenance.

Thrives in partial to full shade with protection from harsh afternoon sun. Prefers moist, well-drained soil rich in organic matter. Apply a layer of mulch to keep roots cool. Remove old, damaged leaves in late winter before flowers emerge to improve appearance and air circulation. Avoid frequently disturbing the roots once established. Deer tend to avoid it, but it is not deer-proof.
