Laburnum x waterei 'Pendula' (yellow)
DETAILS AND CARE
This deciduous, compact tree is notable for its elegant, weeping habit and bright yellow flowers that cascade in long, showy racemes during late spring, creating a dazzling focal point in any landscape. Hardy to USDA Zones 5-7, it thrives in well-drained, moderately fertile soil and prefers full sun to partial shade. It typically grows to a height of 10-15 feet with a similar spread, forming a graceful, umbrella-like shape. Its green foliage transitions into golden hues in autumn, adding seasonal interest. Though no fruit is significant, care should be taken as all parts of the plant are toxic if ingested. Tolerant of urban pollution and moderately resistant to deer, it makes an excellent ornamental tree for smaller gardens where space is limited.
