This evergreen ornamental grass boasts a tufted, arching habit, with striking deep black-purple foliage that provides a dramatic contrast in garden settings. Recommended for USDA hardiness zones 6 to 10, it thrives in temperatures ranging from 55°F to 85°F and prefers well-drained soil enriched with organic matter. Though it doesn’t offer fall color, it produces small, pale lavender flowers in summer, followed by blue-black berries, adding interest to the landscape.
