Penstemon barbatus Pristine™ Lilac Purple

Penstemon barbatus 'Pristine Lilac Purple' is a striking perennial beardtongue prized for its profusion of vibrant lilac-purple, tubular flowers that bloom from late spring into summer on tall, slender spikes. This selection from the Pristine™ series is valued for its uniformity, long bloom time, and excellent garden performance. It's perfect for adding vertical accent and pollinator-friendly color to sunny borders, cottage gardens, or mass plantings. Deer tend to avoid this plant. It thrives in well-drained soil with moderate watering once established.

Plant in a location with full sun and well-drained soil. Water regularly during the first growing season to establish a deep, extensive root system. Once established, it has moderate water needs and can tolerate some drought. Cut back spent flower spikes to encourage additional blooms and maintain a tidy appearance.
