Its glossy, dark green leaves provide year-round interest, and in late spring, it produces small, fragrant white flowers in upright racemes, attracting pollinators. These are followed by small, dark red to black ornamental fruits that are loved by birds. While it shows no notable fall color change, its year-round foliage remains a standout feature.
