Sedum x 'Bertram Anderson'
DETAILS AND CARE
This low-growing, spreading perennial exhibits a compact, mounding habit, ideal for rock gardens, borders, or containers. Recommended for hardiness in Zones 3-9, it thrives in full sun with well-drained, moderately fertile soil. Its dark, purplish-black foliage provides dramatic contrast throughout the growing season, giving way to clusters of vibrant pink flowers in late summer to early fall, which are a favorite among pollinators. It can reach a height of up to 6-10 inches with a similar spread. While not noted for fall color distinction, the foliage retains its striking dark tones late into the season. This drought-tolerant and deer-resistant variety is perfect for xeriscaping and low-maintenance gardens. It does not produce notable fruit and performs best in soils that are sandy or gravelly with excellent drainage to prevent root rot.
