  • Botanical: Salix integra 'Hakuro Nishiki'
  • Common: Dappled Willow (Standard Form)
  • Habit: Small, graceful standard tree with a rounded, airy canopy.
  • Mature Size: Typically 6-10 ft tall and wide on a 36-inch standard trunk.
  • USDA Hardiness Zones: 4-9
  • Bloom time: Early spring, featuring small, subtle catkins.
  • Bloom: While the flowers are modest, the main attraction is the spectacular spring foliage display of pink, cream, and green variegation that lightens to green and white in summer.
  • Care: Plant in full sun to part shade. Prefers moist, well-drained soil. Prune in late winter or early spring to maintain shape and encourage the brightest new foliage.
  • Deer tend to avoid this plant, making it a good choice for areas with deer pressure, though it is not completely deer-proof.
