Sempervivum ‘Amanda’

Sempervivum 'Amanda' is a stunning succulent valued for its architectural rosettes of fleshy, pointed leaves that display a vibrant color show. The foliage emerges with a beautiful blend of rose-pink, lavender, and green, often deepening to rich burgundy or crimson tips in bright sun or cooler temperatures. This low-growing perennial forms tight clusters, readily producing offsets or 'chicks' around the mother plant to create a dense, textural mat. It's incredibly drought-tolerant and low-maintenance, thriving in poor, rocky soil where other plants struggle. Perfect for rock gardens, succulent containers, green roofs, or as a unique ground cover in sunny, well-drained spots, 'Amanda' adds year-round interest with its captivating form and color.

Plant in full sun to light shade in very well-drained soil, such as a sandy or gritty mix. Excellent drainage is critical. Water deeply but infrequently, allowing the soil to dry completely between waterings. Overwatering is the main cause of failure. Tolerates poor, rocky, and shallow soils. In containers, use a cactus/succulent potting mix. Minimal fertilization is needed. Remove spent flower stalks and old mother rosettes after they bloom to tidy the plant.
