Sempervivum 'Emerald Empress'
DETAILS AND CARE
This striking evergreen succulent forms rosettes with a tight, compact habit, showcasing emerald green leaves framed with a subtle reddish edge. Hardy in zones 4–9, it thrives in temperatures ranging from -30°F to 90°F. Its mature height generally remains under 4 inches, making it perfect for rock gardens, containers, or ground cover. Offering excellent deer resistance, this plant prefers well-drained, sandy or gritty soil and can tolerate drought once established. In summer, it occasionally produces star-shaped flowers in pale pink hues, adding further charm. Although it does not exhibit fall color changes, its rosettes retain their vibrant year-round appeal. Sempervivum 'Emerald Empress' also forms offsets to create clusters over time, allowing for easier propagation and growth.
