DETAILS AND CARE

This low-growing, spreading evergreen shrub forms a dense carpet of rich, dark green foliage, making it an ideal choice for ground cover or erosion control. It thrives in USDA zones 4–7 and does well in partial to full shade, but can tolerate some sun if kept in consistently moist, well-draining soil. Preferring cooler climates, it performs best in temperatures ranging from 50–70°F. This cultivar does not produce significant fall color, but its fine-textured foliage is an attractive year-round feature. The plant produces small, inconspicuous red berries, which can add subtle interest. 'Green Creeper' has high deer resistance, making it a reliable choice for regions with heavy browsing pressure. At maturity, it typically reaches a height of 1–2 feet with a spread of 5–6 feet, forming a low, sprawling habit with a neat and tidy appearance. It thrives in a range of soil types, provided they are well-drained.
